Ronald J. Deibert
Ron Deibert (PhD, University of British Columbia) is Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the Citizen Lab at the Munk Centre for International Studies, University of Toronto. The Citizen Lab is an interdisciplinary research and development hothouse working at the intersection of the Internet, global security, and human rights. He is a co-founder and a principal investigator of the OpenNet Initiative, research and advocacy project that examines Internet censorship and surveillance worldwide, The Information Warfare Monitor, and a co-founder and director of global policy and outreach for the psiphon censorship circumvention software project. Deibert has published numerous articles, chapters, and two books on issues related technology, media, and world politics.
